Executive Director/Head Coach
Mark is the Lake Country Swim Team Executive Director and Head Coach, as well as being the lead coach for Senior Silver & Bronze and Senior Silver HS.
Mark brings 38 years of experience to the program as a coach, swimmer and parent. Mark began coaching with the Hartford Swim Club and Hartford HS in 1980, coaching the Boy’s and Girl’s teams through to 1991. Mark’s coaching career with LAKE began as the Hartford Program coach in 1987, being promoted to the Head Age Group coach in 1991. He assumed Head Coach and Executive Director responsibilities in 2002.
Raised, and still living, in Hartford Wisconsin, Mark is married to wife of 26 years, Darsi, and has three children, Whitney, Devin and Aiden. When not on the deck or in the office, he enjoys putzing around the house and other activities such as cards, X-Box, ‘driveway-H-O-R-S-E’ and family board games. His favorite food is a grilled, medium-rare rib eye steak, with sweet onion slices and portabella mushrooms, done on his patio on a warm summer evening. Mark’s favorite music, as few need to be told, is the Good Ol’ Grateful Dead!
Head Age Group/Junior Coach
Bob is the Lake Country Swim Team Head Age Group Coach and the Business Manager, as well as being the lead coach for the Junior training group. Bob is also the Head Boy’s Swim Coach for Arrowhead HS and the Co-Head Girl’s Swim Coach for Hartford HS. Bob, and his wife Kristen, call the beautiful city of Hartford their home. Besides coaching, their lives are very busy with four teenage children – Danielle, Melanie, Chris and Kyle, two dogs (Bear and Scooter), a cat (Romeo) and two horses (Chance and Madison).
Bob is a graduate of Lakeland College with a degree in Business Administration. He has 26 years of high school and club coaching experience with the last 14 while at LCST and AHS both as a coach and parent. He is certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) as an ASCA level 5 (high school), level 4 (age group) and level 4 (USA swimming) coaching qualifications. He has also received numerous recognitions for his team’s accomplishments, the most recent being an opportunity to speak at the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) national convention in March of 2007. His Arrowhead High School Mens and Womens teams have won the Wisconsin D1 State Championship title 9 times. Bob has also been nominated 15 times as Wisconsin Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association “Coach of the Year” winning it 5 times.
In his spare time off the deck, he enjoys football (Go Packers!), fishing, and thinking of creative and innovative ways to challenge his swimmers! His favorite vacation spots with the family are Myrtle Beach, SC and Kauai, HI. His favorite snacks are Diet Mountain Dew and Peanut M&M’s, while watching his favorite TV shows, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, “The Office” and “Seinfeld”. Bob’s favorite restaurants are the Meat ’n’ Place, Texas Roadhouse and the Mineshaft!
Senior Assistant Coach
Tom is the Lake Country Swim Team Senior Coach. He coaches the Senior Gold and Senior Sterling Silver training groups.
Coach Tom has been coaching for 19 years. Tom swam for Lakeside Swim Club (Louisville, KY) and graduated from University of Louisville with a degree Finance. Tom then moved to Illinois to coach at Northern Illinois University (92-97). Tom left collegiate coaching to coach club in the Chicago area for the past 10 years. Tom is ASCA Level 4 and is an American Red Cross Instructor.
In his free time, Tom enjoys listening to music and gardening. Tom hopes to find time for a sailboat. His favorite foods are Indian and Chicago stuffed pizza.
Age Group Gold/Bronze Coach
Ruth Ann is the coach for the Phoenix’s Bronze and Gold Team. Coach Ruth Ann was a competitive swimmer for 11 years in Wisconsin and Missouri. She was a state champion and record holder in high school. She attended the University Of Missouri. She coached swimming in PA before moving to WI with her family 2 years ago. She is going into her 2nd year of coaching for the Phoenix. She has her level 2 certification with the ASCA. Coach Ruth Ann and her husband Tony have 2 children, Katie 16, who swims for AHS and Matthew, 13, who swims for Lake Country
When not at the pool, Coach Ruth Ann is busy with her own home based business and spending time with her family. She loves to read and think of new things to try with the kids at the pool to keep practices interesting and fun.
Hartford Facility Coach/Novice Director
Whitney is the Phoenix’s Novice Director and the coach for all levels at the Hartford Pool. This is her 7th year with the team as a coach, however, she swam for the team for 11 years. You can find Whitney in the team office during the day and on deck in the evening.
Whitney currently resides in Nashotah, WI with her husband, Dave. She and Dave enjoy playing cards, board games and watching movies and sports on TV. Whitney loves teaching children of all ages about the wonderful world of competitive swimming. She cares deeply about every child she works with and absolutely loves how much they all make her smile and laugh!

I have been coaching with the team since 2000 and currenty run the super 8 and age group silver program. I also work for the City of Waukesha in their IT department.
